As of 1 January 2001, the company Fishery Hluboka a.s. sells 84% of its fish production through the sales organization FISH MARKET a.s., wherein it has a property share amounting to 23% of the registered capital.
The major part of the company’s production includes breeding of scaled and mirror carps up to the market size (approximately 85% of the entire production of live fish) and breeding of other market fish, such as perch, pike, catfish, tench, grass carp, silver carp, perch, roach, rudd, bream, sturgeon, eel, and other freshwater species (approximately 15%).
Production and trade of ornamental fish, sturgeons and fry stock of various species of fish for fishing grounds have an important stake in the business activities of this company. The history of ornamental fish breeding reaches back into history, some 2,000 years ago. It did not fully blossom, however, until the last century, in the form of fancy goldfish, golden orfe, and KOI carps. The joint stock company Fishery Hluboka has achieved very good results in the breeding of sturgeons, one of the main programs of the hatchery for more than 5 years, and in the breeding of fry stock of sturgeons up to the phase of dry food ingestion.
